Definition of Mental Health:

Mental Health is sometimes thought of as simply the absence of a mental illness but is actually much broader.  Mental Health is a state of successful mental functioning, resulting in productive activities, satisfying relationships, as well as the ability to adapt to change and cope with adversity.  Mental Health is indispensable to personal well-being, family and interpersonal relationships, and one's contribution to society.

 

Program Mission:

To serve as a therapeutic resource that will support individuals as they move towards recovery and independence. To provide appropriate therapeutic interventions, psycho-social education and assist persons to develop and maintain natural supports with in their community in an effort to decrease overall professional dependence.

 

Program Description:

To work with individuals with in holistic program tailored to a client's specific needs in regards to an integrated overview of human life. MVRA provides adult consumers with a designated Therapist who will work collaboratively with a person to identify and secure the support and treatment necessary to achieve their recovery plan goals, while remaining in the community of his or her choice. The program focuses on the following aspects of life with focus on client's choice: i.e. Housing, Finances, Social Relationships, Emotional and Physical Wellness, Sexuality, Intellectual Pursuits, Spirituality, Vocational skills and goals leading to direct integrated job placement, all with in the individual's community.


Adult Mental Health Services:

Individuals, age 18 or older, with presenting problems that range from situational to serious mental illnesses, may receive the following services:

  • Diagnostic Evaluation
  • Individual Therapy
  • Family Therapy
  • Group Therapy


MVRA Mental Health Clinic Jail Program:

The Jail Program works with individuals in the criminal justice system diagnosed with a severe and persistent mental illness. The Jail Program ensures delivery of clinically appropriate mental health services, addressing co-occurring issues, working collaboratively with Probation/ Maine Pretrial Services, and supporting the individual's re-entry in to the community identifying the necessary supports to reduce recidivism.

Through Therapy and Case Management Services, such individuals are made aware of community programs that can provide resources upon release.  The community programs are essential in promoting independent living.

Fees:
Payment is required at the time services are rendered.
Mainecare, Cash & qualifying private/commercial insurances are accepted upon approval of insurance benefits & verification.

A sliding scale fee is addressed on a case by case basis.
