On and off site supported employment services are provided to all clients after placement and is designed to assists the individual in transitioning in to the work site by assisting with communication and building solid relationships with the employer and coworkers, learn new tasks and skills, and develop strong work ethics. If accommodations or adaptive equipment is needed the employment specialist will discuss this with the client, employer, and funding source counselor. Off site support is tailored to each individuals needs and the time is determined on an individual basis. Meetings are held with the clients on or off site to provide positive reinforcement and encouragement, discuss employment issues, and provide the client with an opportunity to discuss job related issues, ask questions, and make comments on satisfaction and comfort levels at the work site. The employment specialist reviews job survival skills, which may include acceptable work and social behaviors, relationships with management and coworkers, communication skills, building natural supports. Approval and funding is provided by the referring agency.
