-Daily Living Skills-



Daily living skills support services are designed to assist consumers to maintain highest level of independence possible. MVRA will assist consumers to develop and maintain skills of daily living as well as help consumer remain oriented, healthy and safe.

 

Support methods include modeling, cueing and coaching. Examples of services would include:

 

1. Community integration: ie: weekly banking, grocery shopping, vocational supports

2. ADLs: brush teeth daily, showering daily and wearing clean clothes.

3. Reducing isolation/increasing socialization: supporting consumer in gaining these skills.

4. Housekeeping: ie: cooking, cleaning, laundry.

5. Medication monitoring: cue/prompt/monitor consumer to take meds. as prescribed.

6. Coping skills: prompt/cue consumer to practice coping skills as initiated by therapist.

7. Processing information: assisting consumer with processing incoming info. to decrease confusion and create awareness to discuss with Therapist.



Eligible criteria for Daily Living Support Services include the following :

  • Individuals, age 18 or older,
  • Persons with and Axis 1 diagnosis
  • Full Mainecare benefits
  • Present with problems that range from situational to serious and chronic
